TALLY is a creative collective and independent production company founded by filmmaker Archie Hancock and Jack Zimmerman, dedicated to making bold and original films.

Their debut short film, Kindling (2023), screened at a variety of festivals around the world including Revelation Perth, Cannes Indie Shorts, and Berlin Indie. Where the Cattle Go to Drink, developed as part of Blackbird’s Protostar Program, premiered exclusively at Blackbird’s Sunrise & Moonrise Festival attended by 6,000+ people.

Their documentary short The Conversation premiered at a number of Academy & BAFTA-qualifying film festivals around the world and was shortlisted for the 2025 Young Directors Award. The film also had strong online following throughout its festival run, garnering feature pieces in The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Brisbane Times.

The duo are in post on a new film, Despite the Night, starring Ed Oxenbould (Wildlife) and Joe Bird (Talk to Me), shot by Sundance alum Sean Ryan and executive produced by Berlinale Silver Bear-winner Patrick Graham.

They’re also developing an animated documentary, Albion St, about Australia’s AIDS crisis backed by an Oscar-winning producer, as well as their debut feature.

Outside of their filmmaking, Jack has development experience at Wooden Horse and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine. Archie was also recently selected to study under acclaimed auteur Pedro Costa at Playlab Film’s Directing Lab in Mexico.
